ISTANBUL, Turkey —
A renowned brothel owner became the biggest taxpayer in Istanbul for a third consecutive year, the semiofficial Anatolian news agency reported Thursday.
Matilt Manukyan, said to own considerable real estate and many brothels in the city, will pay $616,300 in personal income tax for 1991, according to the Tax Office. Brothels are legal in Turkey.
