Nation IN BRIEF : NEW YORK : Battle Lines Drawn at Abortion Clinics

Hundreds of abortion-rights activists began massing outside clinics in anticipation of next week’s anti-abortion rally in Buffalo, N.Y. Some said they were ready to use force to keep clinics open. The national anti-abortion group Operation Rescue has said it plans to begin two to four weeks of protests on Monday, with the intent of closing local clinics. Anya Wislocki of Detroit said members of her group, the National Women’s Rights Organizing Coalition, were ready to drag Operation Rescue members away from clinics.
