TEACHER’S PET: James L. Doti has a special reason to be happy that the main speaker at his April 30 inauguration as Chapman University president will be Dr. Milton Friedman. The Nobel Prize winner, known for his conservative economics, was Doti’s professor at the University of Chicago in the mid-’70s when Doti was working toward his economics doctorate. Doti took Money I, II, and III from Friedman. . . . “He’s probably the most brilliant man I know,” Doti says.
