County Bar Assn. Picks Cox for Award
The Orange County Bar Assn. has selected Rep. Christopher Cox (R-Newport Beach) as its Legislator of the Year, Bar officials announced Wednesday.
Bar officials said that the award was, in part, a recognition of Cox’s leadership role in “breaking through the bureaucratic logjam in bringing a federal courthouse to Orange County.”
Andrew Guilford, past president of the Bar Assn., said Cox “had done an incredible job on the federal courthouse issue. It is further evidence of his level of effectiveness in Washington.”
Cox will be presented with the award on Friday at a special reception at the Bar Assn. Conference Center in Santa Ana.
