The Execution of Harris

Share

Your editorial “Can There Be Real Justice in Ending Such a Hateful Life?” (April 17) is a fine example of convoluted thinking.

Your editorial seems to promote the idea that executions should be handed out on a “quota” basis so that each segment of our population gets its “fair share” in order to hand out true justice.

The father of one of the victims placed Harris’ execution in proper light. It is punishment of Harris for his vile acts on two innocent boys. This vile murderer happened to be white. Murderers should be punished for their acts against society regardless of ethnic, social or other background, not, as you suggest, on a “quota” basis.
