SIMI VALLEY : Public Forum to Focus on Courts

Eleven Ventura County judges and two court commissioners will answer the public’s questions about the judicial system at a forum tonight in Simi Valley.
The forum will start at 7 p.m. in Courtroom 1 of the East Valley Courthouse, 3855 Alamo St., and will last till about 8:45.
The public may submit written questions on general court topics, said Vince Ordonez Jr., assistant court executive officer.
Questions about specific cases or rulings will not be accepted, Ordonez said.
A similar forum was held Tuesday night in Ventura.
The forums are sponsored by the county’s superior and municipal courts and the Ventura County League of Women Voters.
Tonight’s forum will feature Superior Court Judges Charles W. Campbell Jr., Melinda A. Johnson, Barbara A. Lane and William L. Peck; Municipal Judges Bruce A. Clark, Steven Hintz, John J. Hunter, Thomas J. Hutchins, Barry B. Klopfer, Roland N. Purnell and John R. Smiley; and court commissioners John V. Paventi and John H. Pattie.
