Close-Up: Harvey H. Hartman
Position: President of the Hartman Group, Newport Beach.
Birth date: Oct. 31, 1946.
Residence: Newport Beach.
Education: Bachelor degrees in commerce and finance and in English from St. Louis University.
Business philosophy: “We believe we can assist in making change and making a difference in the environment, which I believe is an important social cause. At the same time, we believe we can do it in a very pro-business, proactive way.”
Goals: “There are three things: to give something back to society; to build a sustaining kind of business . . . and to have fun and create an environment where people can grow.”
His wild side: “Two things: tennis and reading, and having a Budweiser every once in a while.”
What drives him crazy: “People who don’t return phone calls and don’t do business in a professional way. The lack of integrity is also a real issue for me.
Fade to black: “I think I’d like people to have respect for me as a businessman and to know that I respected others in my dealings on business fronts as well as personal fronts. And I’d like them to say, ‘I enjoyed being around him.’ ”
