Mother’s Day brings out the best in “Saturday Night Live.”

Bruce Springsteen will make his first live television appearance ever in tonight’s installment of the comedy series, 11:30 p.m. (4)(36) (39). The famed rock star, eager to drum up sales for his two current album releases, will perform three songs during the 90-minute show. Tom Hanks serves as host.

Then Sunday at 9 p.m. (4)(36)(39), “Saturday Night Live: All the Best for Mother’s Day” features the regular cast members and their moms in a prime-time special that includes reprises of the funniest moments from this season.

Tonight also marks the final episode of “The Golden Girls” (4)(36)(39) as Dorothy, played by Bea Arthur, marries and departs the show in a one-hour special beginning at 8 p.m. With a new name and setting, the series will carry on without Arthur in the fall.
