PHOTO-OP: U.S. scientists have high hopes for the CIA’s promise of a new openness. Unbelievably detailed, high-resolution satellite photos would give scientists an unparalleled opportunity to learn about rising seas worldwide for the study of global warming and the effects of pollution. . . . The agency has set up a task force to consider how generous it should be in sharing the material, but there’s a hitch: Intelligence experts are skittish about outsiders knowing just how good those photos are.
