Butch Reynolds is scheduled to run the 400-meter dash June 10 at a track and field meet at a high school in Holmdel, N.J. It is not a Grand Prix event.
There is a June 13 deadline for runners to get a time of 45.80 seconds to qualify for the Olympic trials, starting June 19 in New Orleans.
Reynolds, whose 43.29 set the world record in 1988, plans to run in another meet Saturday in San Francisco.
He was supposed to have run last weekend in the Bruce Jenner Classic at San Jose, but meet officials withdrew his invitation after the International Amateur Athletics Federation threatened to strip the Jenner meet of its Grand Prix status and pull the Olympic eligibility of any athlete who participated.
The IAAF suspended Reynolds in 1990 after he allegedly tested positive for steroids.
