Fertility Doctor’s License Is Revoked

RICHMOND, Va. — The state Board of Medicine has formally revoked the license of a fertility specialist convicted of fraud for impregnating patients with his own sperm, officials said Thursday.
The board revoked the license of Dr. Cecil Jacobson on May 28, nearly three weeks after he was sentenced to five years in prison. State law requires the board to revoke or suspend the license of anyone convicted of a felony.
Jacobson, 55, operated a clinic outside Washington, D.C. Prosecutors said he fathered up to 75 children while telling patients he was using anonymous sperm donors. Jacobson is appealing the conviction.
