Jenifer Lovell of Miami was the overall leader after the first day of the competition in rhythmic gymnastics at the U.S. Olympic Trials at the Baltimore Arena.
Lovell, the 1991 national champion, led by 1.15 points over Tamara Levinson of Silver Spring, Md. Bianca Sapetto of San Pedro was third, 0.25 points behind Levinson. The top two finishers after today’s final round will represent the U.S. in Barcelona.
