AT&T;, Unions Still Talking: Contract talks between two unions and American Telephone & Telegraph Co. continued despite a union threat last week to break off negotiations. Communications Workers of America President Morton Bahr had said Thursday that negotiators would be sent home Friday if there was no contract settlement. But union spokeswoman Gaye Mack said: “They made enough progress that Mr. Bahr felt it was profitable to keep the national team in negotiations.” She said the talks are focusing on job security issues. The CWA and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers say union jobs are being threatened by technological changes.
