Mark Covington has been appointed executive vice president in charge of the managed care division of United Western Medical Centers. He will direct the operations of the newly structured division of the Santa Ana-based nonprofit corporation. Before joining United Western, Covington was vice president of managed care for Columbia General-Lifelink, wholly owned subsidiaries of PacifiCare Health Systems. He was also owner and manager of a firm engaged in the start-up of health service companies and founded Summa Health Corp.
