Healthy Food Ads to Air With Cartoons: Parents trying to get their children to eat healthfully should soon be getting extra support from a source better known for pushing sugar-coated fare: Saturday morning cartoon shows. Public service announcements linking healthy breakfast food to success playing sports will begin airing after June 19. They’re produced by the Kellogg Co. in collaboration with the National Assn. of Broadcasters, the National Urban League and the President’s Council on Physical Fitness. The announcer gives credit for the message to the latter two groups, so they don’t come off as commercials for Kellogg.
