More on Leftists Who Turned Right

In your article about Horowitz and Collier, your writer, Bob Sipchen, dignifies these shameless self-promoters and plays into their hands by writing oh-so-flippantly (of liberals supporting) “peace, justice, Ho Chi Minh and all God’s other good causes.”
No more than a handful of the Americans left ever supported the Viet Cong; they were just against the Vietnam war and Americans dying for nothing.
It seems to me that in the ‘60s, Collier and Horowitz supported totalitarian countries, some American racists and the warlike fringe associated with “the left,” and in the ‘90s, they support totalitarian countries, some American racists and the warlike fringe associated with “the right.” These guys haven’t changed much at all.
Like Lyndon LaRouche, another “leftist who turned right,” they are really just partisans of the politics of hatred and confusion, whatever decade they’re living in.
