More on Leftists Who Turned Right

I wish you hadn’t allowed Peter Collier’s and David Horowitz’s babble to go unchallenged for six columns before an objective voice countered their rhetoric (“Leftists Who Turned Right,” June 2).

Collier and especially the sad Horowitz proved well before their self-hyped “conservative conversion” that their commitment to progressive change was as shallow as it was broad.

Their “leftist” behavior, like that of the equally pathetic Jerry Rubin, was strident, shrill and reactionary. Now their right-wing campaign is strident, shrill, reactionary and immature.

Really, America and the world have more pressing issues--poverty, disease, ecological destruction, economic disparity--than to worry about Collierwitz’s collective guilt about buying their luxury sports cars.
