Panama Reports 38th Death From Cholera

PANAMA CITY —
Health officials said Tuesday that 1,943 cholera cases and 38 cholera-related deaths have been reported in Panama since its outbreak nine months ago. The most recent death occurred Saturday.
Latin America’s cholera epidemic, which has killed about 4,000 people since breaking out in Peru in January, 1991, reached Panama in mid-September.
