Diamond Bar : Landowners to Pay Tax

Share

A group of landowners in the southwest portion of the city who were previously exempt from the city’s road maintenance tax will be charged in the 1992-93 fiscal year.

The City Council voted 5 to 0 Tuesday to include the remaining 1,100 untaxed parcels in the road maintenance assessment district, which now includes all of the city’s 17,000 parcels. The county had excluded the area from the assessments before the city incorporated in 1989.

The council also voted unanimously to retain last year’s rate of $15 per parcel. The tax will generate $256,500 this year, augmented by $30,000 carried over from previous years.

In addition to maintenance, the 1992-93 assessment plan sets aside $131,500 for road landscaping along Temple Avenue in north Diamond Bar and for another project, either construction of median islands along part of Colima Road within the newly taxed area or the creation of sidewalks along the portion of Diamond Bar Boulevard between Gold Rush Drive and Golden Springs Drive.
