Robber Takes $1,300 from Bank
A man escaped with $1,300 Wednesday after holding up a teller at a California Federal Bank branch, police said.
The man entered the bank at 7222 Edinger Ave. about 2 p.m, walked up to a teller and placed a note on the counter, said police Lt. Jeff Cope.
Cope said the man indicated to the teller that he had a gun. However, no shots were fired, and investigators could not say for sure whether the man was armed, Cope said.
The man was described as 35 to 40 years old, about 6 feet tall with a slight build and short blond hair. He was wearing a gray sports coat.
Witnesses told police that the man was seen leaving the bank in a primer-gray car, possibly a Toyota, Cope said.
