Auditions for the forthcoming Conejo Players production of Neil Simon’s “Broadway Bound” will be held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and Monday and Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The six characters in the final installment of Simon’s autobiographical trilogy include Kate, 45 to 55; Ben, 65-plus; Eugene (the Simon character), 20 to 25; Stanley, 25 to 30; Blanche, 40 to 45, and Jack, 45 to 55.

Aspiring cast members should be prepared to do a cold reading for director Rick Steinberg. The play will run Thursday through Saturday nights, Aug. 28 through Oct. 3.

Auditions for the Conejo Afternoon Theater production of Noel Coward’s “Private Lives” will be held at the theater June 27 at 2:30 p.m., and June 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Conejo Players Theater. Characters include Sibyl Chase, Eliot Chase, Victor Prynne, Amanda Prynne (all 25 to 50) and Louise (any adult age). Be prepared to give cold readings for director Terry Fishman. The production will run for four consecutive Sunday matinees, beginning September 6.

FANGS FOR THE MEMORIES: Tryouts for the Magnificent Moorpark Melodrama & Vaudeville Company’s upcoming production, “Dracula . . . Sorry, the Bridge Is Out; You’ll Have to Spend the Night,” will be held Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.

Parts include the naive young couple requisite in such shows, plus an assortment of monsters.

Applicants should sign in at noon and be prepared to sing, dance and do a cold reading from the script. Bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided.

Rehearsals begin Monday and will continue on Monday through Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings. The show will run Aug. 14 through Sept. 19. There is some pay, and you get to stand on the sidewalk after performances and solicit tips.

DOLLY’S INVITED; BURT, PLEASE STAY HOME: Auditions for the upcoming Cabrillo Music Theater production of “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” will be held at the Dorill B. Wright Cultural Center in Port Hueneme on June 29 and 30 at 7 p.m. Director Kevin Calvin is looking for “an ethnically diverse company of 46 roles, from 13 to 80. There are singing and dancing roles as well as character parts.”

Performances will be Friday and Saturday nights and Sunday matinees, Sept. 11 through 20.
