Yeltsin’s Visit

Share

Russian President Boris Yeltsin confirmed that American MIAs in World World II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War were held in the Soviet Union after their capture and that some may possibly still be alive (June 16).

It was a national disgrace that our government never seriously looked into such charges when they were made over the years. President Bush and politicians, both Democrats and Republicans, and so-called foreign policy experts who had over the years vehemently denied such charges as “untrue,” “lies,” and “fairy tales,” owe the families of all MIAs a prompt public apology. Sens. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and Robert Smith (R-N.H.) should be applauded for their hard work on this issue for many years.
