Horror Over Gun Deaths

Share

In response to “There Must Be a Sense of Horror,” editorial, June 14:

The rising incidence of gun violence in Los Angeles is not only a horror, but a dread. I have lived in Los Angeles for over 45 years and have enjoyed this city for most of that time. But the past few years have brought an underlying anxiety to my existence, finding myself having to carefully consider where and when I go someplace, and how I have to get there.

The prevalence of guns in this city is slowly reducing the quality of life, and many people’s ability to pursue their measure of happiness. Innocent people, even children and infants, are shot down in our streets by people with guns.

Why should it be easier to buy a gun than to get a driver’s license? Why can’t people say that enough is enough?
