From Times Staff and Wire Reports

A leading pediatric specialist was fatally shot in an examining room by a man officials said was angry over the treatment he received for a hearing problem. Dr. John Kemink, 42, was shot in the head, shoulder and abdomen at the University of Michigan Hospital’s clinic in Ann Arbor. A 68-year-old man described as a regular patient of Kemink’s was arrested as he tried to leave the building. The man, Chester Leo Posby, was charged with murder and ordered held without bond pending a hearing. “Apparently he was a disgruntled patient,” university spokesman Joseph Owsley said. While many of his patients were children, Kemink also saw adult patients, the school said.
