Four Lebanese Farmers Killed in Israel Retaliation
Four farmers were killed Sunday as Israeli artillerymen retaliated for the wounding of four soldiers in southern Lebanon, authorities said.
Israel’s military command in Jerusalem said the soldiers suffered minor wounds when Arab guerrillas exploded a bomb in Israel’s self-proclaimed “security zone.” In Beirut, the Islamic Resistance, the military wing of the pro-Iranian Hezbollah, claimed responsibility for the attack.
Ten minutes after the explosion, Israeli artillery fired at the village of Kfar Rumman, killing four farmers who were tending their fields, a police spokesman said.
