Equipping the Military: Interstate Electronics Corp. in Anaheim said it won a $32-million contract from the Air Force to produce global positioning system equipment that helps soldiers and aircraft determine their precise locations on battlefields.
The contract is a follow-on to a full-scale development contract that Interstate won in 1985. Under the new deal, Interstate, a division of Figgie International Inc., will provide GPS receivers, navigational units and data communications equipment for all the military services.
