Dave Hansen singled with the bases loaded and two outs in the 11th inning Wednesday, giving the Dodgers a 1-0 victory over the Montreal Expos in the opener of the Dodgers’ third consecutive doubleheader.

The Dodgers, who swept the Expos Monday and were swept by Montreal on Tuesday, are playing four doubleheaders in six days to make up games postponed by the Los Angeles riots.

Eric Davis led off the 11th with a single off Sergio Valdez (0-1). Darryl Strawberry singled one out later, Matt Maysey relieved in his major league debut, and first baseman Arci Cianfrocco bobbled Lenny Harris’ grounder for an error, loading the bases.

Davis was thrown out at the plate by shortstop Spike Owen on Mike Scioscia’s grounder, and Hansen followed with the winning hit, ending the game after 4 hours, 29 minutes.

Tom Candiotti (7-7) pitched a perfect 11th for the victory. Although the game was scoreless for 10 innings, it was anything but a pitching duel. Nine pitchers allowed 20 hits and issued 11 walks, and each team stranded 12 runners.

Dodgers starter Bob Ojeda allowed seven hits and struck out seven in 6 2-3 innings. John Candelaria completed the seventh and Roger McDowell followed with three innings of one-hit relief.

Montreal starter Brian Barnes gave up four hits in seven innings.
