Strike Stalls Guatemala

GUATEMALA CITY —
Thousands of workers brought Guatemalan government operations to a near-standstill Monday in a one-day strike to press demands for higher wages. Union leaders said 85% of public hospital, electricity, transport, communications and other workers were on strike, closing almost all facilities.
