Matter of Conscience

In Letters to the Editor, S. Marlene Head thanked the Republican voters for “proving that Ventura County is still a place where individual freedom of conscience is respected and protected.” Since conscience is “the faculty of recognizing the distinction between right and wrong in regard to one’s own conduct,” Head means freedom from conscience.

Mothers suffering from grief and guilt after aborting their children find solace in naming their dead babies and sending the names in to be remembered at a prayer service every Memorial Day at Santa Clara Cemetery and every Fourth of July at Conejo Cemetery at the Tombs for the Unborn. Hundreds of people attending Memorial Day services this year at Oxnard’s Santa Clara Cemetery were shocked to see Head and her loyal followers picketing the entrance of the cemetery.

Only very sick minds not satisfied that pre-born children are cruelly murdered by abortion and discarded as so much trash, angrily protest a memorial service prayerfully commending the souls of these babies into the hands of God.
