Park Patrons Misidentified

Share

Michael Connelly’s article (“Officials Confront Drinking, Crowding at Orcas Park,” Times Valley Edition July 7) says Orcas Park “has long been a traditional gathering spot for hundreds of residents of the area.” This gives the mistaken impression that the droves of people overcrowding the park each Sunday live in the Lake View Terrace area.

In fact, residents wouldn’t be caught dead in that park anymore, and do not appreciate the hordes of people littering, playing loud music, parking illegally and jamming our narrow residential streets, picnicking on our lawns, stealing fruit and flowers--and yes, urinating publicly--in our once quiet neighborhood.
