CARSON : Child Care Center Shut for Health Violations
State officials shut down a Carson child care center Monday, citing problems including a lack of air conditioning and fresh drinking water for children 3 months to 4 years old.
The action stemmed from a July 9 inspection in which officials turned up more than 20 violations of state law at the Little People’s Assn., 23013 S. Avalon Blvd. “It was like an oven,” said Mario Muniz, field services administrator with the Department of Education’s child development division. “Children were cranky and crying.”
A spokesman for the Little People’s Assn. could not be reached for comment.
