Sears Settles New Jersey Charges: Settling charges that it ripped off New Jersey consumers at its auto centers, Sears, Roebuck & Co. agreed to contribute $200,000 to a fund that would promote reform in the auto repair industry and educate consumers about their rights in dealing with auto repair shops. The fund would be administered by the National Assn. of Attorneys General.
