Monterey Park Boy Among Young Leaders
Carlo Razo of Monterey Park, a student at Don Bosco Technical Institute in Rosemead, attended the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington.
The 350 high school students at the event, sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council, were selected for academic achievement, leadership and citizenship.
During the six-day conference, students met with leaders from the three branches of government, the media and the diplomatic corps.
A highlight of the conference was the Mock Congress on Gun Control, in which students assumed the roles of members of the U.S. House of Representatives by debating and voting on proposed handgun legislation.
