Abdo and Gender-Insensitive Language

I feel so much better after reading “Watching Their Language” (Times, July 16). In this time of eroding law and order (the Santa Monica Council can’t even control its own city attorney), English language and grammar being pulverized, rap/rock non-music (featuring profane language and pictures depicting sex, drugs and violence), drive-by shootings, unemployed and homeless people, rampant crime and disease, growing racial and religious intolerance, and a precarious future for us all as we see how poorly we govern ourselves, it is reassuring to know that Santa Monica Councilwoman Judy Abdo is on the vigilant warpath against gender-insensitive language.
