BURBANK : Council to Consider ‘Pull-Tab’ Gaming

Share

The Burbank City Council plans to consider an ordinance allowing the sale of “pull-tab games” at nonprofit bingo events in the city.

The council asked the city manager on July 7 to investigate such an ordinance, which has been sought by several nonprofit agencies that raise funds through bingo games. City Atty. Joseph Fletcher said Wednesday that he plans to present a proposed ordinance to the council at its Aug. 24 meeting. “We are trying to minimize the possibility of fraud,” Fletcher said. “Because of the speed with which money changes hands, there is a possibility of fraud.”

The cards are similar to some state lottery games that involve tearing off tabs to reveal numbers on cards.
