CHIMNEYLAND: This morning, 700 tons of chimney and fireplace rejects will be dumped into the ocean about four miles off the Huntington Beach Pier. The concrete plus six truckloads of coral will create an artificial reef to enhance fishing. Huntington Harbour’s James Paulk, above, of United Anglers of Southern California--which is financing it--says the reef will create a food chain that will mean good fishing in six months. . . . “For years we’ve done nothing but hurt the ocean. Now we have to do what we can to help it,” he says.
