Share

Trustees of the Garden Grove Unified School District have appointed Frank E. Noe to fill the vacant seat on the five-member Board of Education.

Noe, who has lived in Garden Grove for 28 years, was chosen at a special meeting July 24 from a field of eight applicants. He retired six years ago from his position as assistant superintendent for instructional services at Garden Grove Unified where he also served as principal, area superintendent and associate superintendent. Noe also worked as adviser to student teachers at Cal State Long Beach. Born in Arizona, he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Cal State Long Beach. He and his wife Patti have a son and two daughters, all graduates of district schools.

Noe replaces board member Maureen DiMarco who resigned last month to devote more time to her job as state secretary of child development and education in Sacramento, where she advises Gov. Pete Wilson.
