Top Sikh Guerrilla Leader Reported Killed

CHANDIGARH, India —
Police killed the commander of the largest guerrilla force in Punjab in a half-hour gun battle late Wednesday in the industrial city of Ludhiana, police said Thursday.
Gurjant Singh Budhsinghwala, 37, was the founder and leader of the Khalistan Liberation Force and was accused of planning or committing attacks that killed up to 1,000 people in the last six years.
