Judge Refuses to Move Fatal Kidnaping Trial

TRENTON, N.J. — A federal judge Monday refused a defense request to move from New Jersey the trial of the suspect in the fatal kidnaping of an Exxon executive.
U.S. District Judge Garrett Brown Jr. also wouldn’t suppress evidence found in a car shortly after Arthur D. and Irene Seale were arrested. The car was driven by Irene Seale, who has pleaded guilty to federal extortion charges and agreed to testify against her husband.
Officials contend Arthur Seale abducted Sidney J. Reso, 57, president of Exxon’s international division, from his Morris Township home on April 29, shot him in the arm during a struggle and locked him inside a coffin-like box in a self-storage locker. Reso died several days later.
