San Dimas : City Manager to Resign

Share

City Manager Robert L. Poff has decided to step aside next month after 24 years at the city’s helm.

On Monday, Poff, 57, submitted a letter of resignation, effective Sept. 25. “This was not an easy decision,” he said Tuesday. “It was probably as traumatic as a divorce.”

Poff said he has been thinking about a career change for about a year and will start work Oct. 1 at a Glendora-based private firm that does sales and property tax analysis for local government.

Poff was appointed city manager in 1968, when the city was only 8 years old. He was previously city manager of Duarte for 6 1/2 years and assistant city manager and city clerk in Claremont for three years.
