Air Force Housing at Angels Gate Park

In response to “Panel Backs Plan for Air Force Housing at Angels Gate Park” (South Bay, July 30):
It seems ludicrous to allocate more of San Pedro’s land to build more houses--for any reason--at this time. There are thousands of houses for sale in the South Bay, and prices and interest rates are the lowest in years. Why build more houses for the Air Force? Why not figure a way for them to use what is available? One easy way that would save taxpayer money would be to give each military person needing housing a monthly housing supplement to be used for rent or purchase. This would give relief to the Air Force members while putting some money in the South Bay real estate market.
