Prisoners to Be Freed for Queen’s Birthday

BANGKOK, Thailand —
More than 25,000 prisoners will be freed to mark the queen’s birthday next week, Thai newspapers reported Friday.
The royal amnesty to mark the 60th birthday of Queen Sirikit on Wednesday also will commute the death sentences of 50 prisoners to life imprisonment, the Interior Ministry said.
