Olympics, Week Two: Doesn’t Anyone Have Spirit of the Games?

Am I weird or what? I’m watching the Dream Team and I’m rooting for the other team. I can’t cheer for the wonder boys from America. I can’t stand to watch. It’s like an exhibition game between the Harlem Globetrotters and my high school basketball squad. The Dream Team is going to beat, conquer and ruin everyone it plays, and in the process it will humiliate all who get in the way. It’s getting ugly and someone has to stop the bleeding. Is this what we call “amateur athletics?” Or is it just the ugly American rearing its obnoxious head once again?
