In response to complaints from Gail Devers’ coach, Bob Kersee, that officials were not protecting the women’s 100-meter champion against unsubstantiated allegations of drug use, The Athletics Congress announced Friday the results of her tests from this year.

TAC, which governs track in field in the United States, said in a statement: “Within the last year, under standard TAC procedures, Devers was tested four times for drug use, including two out-of-competition random tests, one in-competition test in May and the final in-competition test at the U.S. Olympic track and field trials in June. Each result showed absolutely no indication of any use of banned substances.”

TAC President Frank Greenberg added: “TAC is proud to be at the forefront of out-of-competition drug testing, and Gail Devers has been rigorously tested and very clearly has not used banned substances to gain unfair advantage.”
