Foreign Investment Up 54% in July: Government-approved new foreign investment rose 54.21% in July from a year ago to $201.6 million. However, the government said that in the first seven months of the year, new foreign investment was 31.74% below a year ago at $763.69 million. Meanwhile, the government said new investment overseas reported by Taiwan companies totaled $55.58 million in July, a decline of 31.09% from a year ago.
