SECURITY: Shootings this year at courthouses around the country have left 10 people dead or wounded, including attorneys, marshals and judges. Such incidents “are constant reminders that courthouses are ripe for those kinds of things,” says Capt. Gary G. Tackett, a county court marshal. . . . Because domestic cases are considered even more volatile than murder cases, security is tightest at the new Juvenile Justice Center, including walk-through metal detectors and X-rays for packages.
