Earnings Increase for IRIS in 2nd Quarter

International Remote Imaging Systems Inc. reported that its earnings jumped to $162,827 in the second quarter ended June 30, from a $16,424 profit a year earlier, as a result of increased sales and more efficient manufacturing and service operations.

The Chatsworth maker of urinalysis machines said its revenue for the quarter rose 29%, to $1.86 million from $1.44 million.

International Remote’s six-month profit was $293,390, in contrast with a $33,191 profit in 1991’s first half. Its revenue was $3.62 million, up 33% from $2.71 million.
