Combat Roles for Women

Share

It’s bad enough, although probably inevitable, that United States military policy is driven more by bureaucratic imperatives than by security concerns, but now I read that the so-called leaders of that Establishment are telling the Congress that the military cannot be operated properly unless it is a large fraternity. Male bonding, with its butt-slapping and high-five high jinks, seems to be more important than competence. Well, fine. Let these boys who carry their egos in their jock straps go off and form their fraternities, but let them pay for their fun out of their own pockets.

In the meantime, I’m sure we can find many eager women and men who are willing to fully participate in a military, which will do what it’s supposed to do--that is, act as an arm to protect the legitimate security interests of the United States.
