Match Dwarf Citrus to Your Conditions

Share

If you’ve decided to buy a dwarf citrus tree available now, here are a few tips to remember. Choose a sunny, wind-free southern exposure and avoid the lawn area. Check to see if the area is clear of overhanging limbs so the citrus can reach its full height--about six to eight feet.

Select a variety that matches your weather conditions. You match the total amount of heat available through the fruit-developing period and the winter cold they will get with the plant’s needs. Ask a California Certified Nursery person at your local nursery for advice.
