OUR DYING CHILDREN

Anyone moved to act on the neglected-children problem can support the Every Fifth Child Act, introduced in Congress as House Bill No. 4822 and Senate Bill No. 2387, to increase funding for WIC (nutrition assistance for Women and Infant Children), Head Start and Job Corps. The bill’s title reminds us that every fifth U.S. child suffers from inadequate nutrition and other deprivations.
